Annual Reviews

Certified member organization must demonstrate compliance on an annual basis by submitting a compliance form with supporting documentation (within 6 months after fiscal year end).

The submission is reviewed by CCCC and a letter with comments, recommendations, noted areas of non-compliance, if any, is sent to the member.

Each certified member receives an annual certificate upon approval and payment of the membership fee.

Field Reviews

Periodic field reviews complement the annual renewal process for Certified Members of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities (CCCC).  The purpose is to assess compliance with the Standards of Accountability.

In addition, the reviews will comment on any areas seen as potentially exposing the organization to liability or risk.  Comments or suggestions on best practices may also be made.

An annual field review of every member is not practical.  The goal is to maintain a three to five-year cycle.  The review is carried out by CCCC staff or volunteers.

The field review offers the opportunity for CCCC to do a more in-depth review of the member's operations, enhanced through dialogue with the CEO or other appropriate individuals.  In addition, it offers the opportunity for CCCC to provide experienced support and guidance in technical matters that could not otherwise be addressed.

Non-Compliance

Any apparent area of non-compliance is communicated to the member and a specified amount of time is given to respond and/or bring about compliance.

Failure to comply results in a registered letter informing the member of termination of CCCC membership and the right to display the Seal of Accountability.  Signed acknowledgment is required from the organization or ministry that they will no longer use the Seal.

"CCCC is uniquely positioned to raise awareness about integrity in ministry by giving or withholding the Seal of Accountability and holding members to the highest possible standards."
