No Extra Time for Filing T3010 Despite Postal Disruption

no extra time for filing t3010 despite postal disruption

Charities with calendar year ends (December 31, 2010) must still file their T3010, Registered Charity Information Return, by June 30, 2011, despite the current interruption in postal services. Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has advised they are not granting extensions. They suggest three alternative forms of delivery:

1.  Courier the return package to:

Charities Directorate
Canada Revenue Agency
13th Floor
320 Queen Street
Ottawa, ON

2.  Fax the return package to the Charities Directorate at either:

1-613-957-8925 or 1-613-941-0186

3.  Deliver the return package to a local tax services office in an envelope marked Charities Directorate, Ottawa, Ontario. Be sure to obtain a date-stamped receipt from the counter attendant.

Many Canadian registered charities have calendar year ends with corresponding filing deadlines of June 30. CCCC reminds members that late filing of the T3010 may result in revocation of charitable status. For additional information, please access the CRA website.
