CCCC Board approves Standard Review Committee’s Recommendations

February 14, 2005

The Standards Review Committee made its first recommendations to CCCC Board at the Winter board meeting. The Board accepted all the recommendations, which are:

  1. That the standards be written recognizing that there is great diversity in Christian ministries. This means acknowledging that while the same principle applies to all, the way in which the principle is applied may differ in some situations.
  2. That the standards should reflect a minimum threshold to be passed in order to be certified and that they should encourage charities to strive for best practices.
  3. That the minimum threshold should be high enough above legal minimum thresholds that the Seal means something.
  4. That the report “Setting the Stage for Reviewing Standards” should be accepted by the board understanding that the suggestions from the committee’s minutes will be added to it.

The minutes of the committee’s meeting are available on-line. Click here to view them.
