It is prudent for directors of charities to evaluate both their individual and collective performance on a regular basis. This process acts as a refresher for members of their duties and responsibilities and also opens channels of communication among directors. By engaging in self-evaluation, boards are better able to identify where they are performing well and where they might improve collectively and individually.
