CCCC is providing something new at the conference this year – pre-event workshops. These one day workshops give you a chance to dive deep into a topic and build your skills. Consider adding one of these to your conference registration.

Project Management (Tuesday)

Are you looking for ways to manage projects more successfully that will enhance your ministry? Bring a current / future project. This workshop will provide:

  • a comprehensive overview of project management
  • tips and tools to manage large and small-scale projects
  • skills to apply project management principles
  • an effective project plan for you to take back to your ministry

James Metcalf is Sr. Director of Operations at CCCC. He has over 20 years’ experience with a major financial institution as a senior leader in Project Management and Program and Loyalty Management. James serves as an elder and bible teacher at his local church and is currently a board member of Gospel Trust Canada. He holds a Masters Project Management certification from Ryerson University and York University.

Inter-Generational Workplaces (Tuesday)

The leadership of Christian organizations is changing as younger generations take charge in existing workplaces and establish their own churches and charities. Featuring a panel of guests, this session will explore how we think about a truly inter-generational workplace and provide concrete, practical advice that can help your organization develop leaders and further your mission both now and into the future.

Duncan is the Manager, Research and Executive Projects at the Canadian Council of Christian Charities. He is a writer and researcher with a passion for child and youth work. His experience with Kerr Street Mission and The Meeting House have led him to pursue a career in charity and ministry. He holds a BA in psychology from York University, and a certificate in law and social thought from le Collège Universitaire Glendon.

Plan To Protect® Administrators & Leaders Certification (Monday)

Learn how to administer, implement and maintain a strong abuse prevention program with policies, screening, and documentation.

Melodie Bissell is the Founder and President of Plan to Protect®, a training and consulting business providing the highest standard of abuse prevention and protection to organizations servicing the vulnerable sector globally. Melodie has been nominated four years in a row for the RBC Canadian Women’s Entrepreneur Award. She has co-authored two protection manuals for children and youth.

Plan To Protect® Train the Trainer Certification (Tuesday)

Learn how to train your volunteers and staff within your abuse prevention program. Receive PowerPoints, Teaching Notes, Student Notes, creative methods and inspiration.

Melodie Bissell will lead this workshop as well.

Technology for Nonprofits – Software and soft skills (Tuesday)

Silent Partner Software presents an interactive day of discussion showcasing the use of technology to advance your mission. Our sessions will demonstrate the effective use and combination of soft skills and software in the nonprofit space.
