Please visit that post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cccc.org\/news_blogs\/noteworthy\/2018\/03\/02\/charities-must-update-their-donation-receipts-by-march-31-2019\/\">here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Canada Revenue Agency (&#8220;CRA&#8221;) has recently transitioned its website to its\u00a0new domain: www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency.html. The &#8220;Canada.ca&#8221; domain will act as the primary location of all Government of Canada websites. It appears that many of the Charities Directorate pages have transitioned to the directorate&#8217;s new location www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/taxes\/charities.html.<\/p>\n<h6>Impact on Receipts<\/h6>\n<p>Registered charities are obligated to create complete and accurate receipts. The source of this obligation is from the<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/regulations\/C.R.C.,_c._945\/page-54.html#h-224\"><em> Income Tax Act<\/em> Regulation 3501(1)(j) <\/a>which requires, among other things, that a donate receipt contain &#8220;the name and Internet website of the Canada Revenue Agency.&#8221; As a result of the changing CRA website address, charities must update their donation receipts to reflect the new website (www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/taxes\/charities.html) to remain compliant with the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Authored by Philip A.S.
