corporations canada permits cnca corporations to amend articles online

Today (May 17, 2017) Corporations Canada announced that not-for-profit corporations created under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, (S.C. 2009, c. 23)  (“CNCA”) will be permitted to submit a request online to amend the articles of the corporation. This online service streamlines the process to amend articles. Corporations can access this service through the Online Filing Center accessible at the following URL: https://www.ic.gc.ca/app/scr/cc/CorporationsCanada/hm.html?locale=en_CA.

The application costs $200 and requires the corporation to provide, among other things, the name, email address, and telephone number of the key contact person along with the amended articles. It is important to note that any information that is provided through the online filing centre may be accessible if permitted by the CNCA.

Corporations Canada states that the service standard for an online application to amend articles is Same day/Next Day Service.
