This entry is part 33 of 33 in the series COVID-19.

A recently issued order extends the deadline for federally incorporated charities to:

Normally, an AGM must be called within 15 months of the previous AGM and no more than 6 months after the last financial year-end.

The order extends the deadline to the shorter of (1) December 31, 2020 or (2) 21 months after the previous AGM and no more than 12 months after the last financial year-end.

  • Present financial statements

Normally, directors must present financial statements to members at the AGM no more than 6 months after that last financial year-end.

The order extends the deadline to no more than 12 months after the last financial year-end.

Ministry workers are invited to share how they are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic within their organization in our online community forum, The Green: COVID-19 Response Room.  If you haven’t accessed it yet, sign up for an individual profile to join the conversation.
