Today the Globe & Mail announced that the Government of Canada will be “conducting sweeping overhaul of the way it finances charities and non-profit organizations”. (See article [:link href=”http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/giving/giving-news/ottawa-looks-at-rewriting-rules-on-charitable-giving/article2216738/” txt=”here”:])
(Policies are being considered that could include new initiatives to allow charities and non-profits to raise money through side-businesses and to increase personal tax credits for charitable giving.
CCCC will be approaching the government to provide input into this initiative. We would like to hear your first impressions of this announcement as well as any questions you have.
As this process unfolds, CCCC will keep members advised of new developments and implications for Christian ministries.
