government of canada has extended the deadline for matching syria donations

Authored by Nevena Belovska, Associate Director of Legal Affairs

The Government of Canada has extended the deadline to match eligible donations from Canadians to the Syria Emergency Relief Fund. The previous deadline of December 31, 2015 has now been extended to February 29, 2016. Furthermore, the deadline for declaring the gift to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development was previously January 15, 2016, but is now March 18, 2016.

This provides charities that have been raising money towards the Syria Emergency Relief Fund with some extra time.
