Change to Ontario Annual Information Returns

change to ontario annual information returns

Charities incorporated in Ontario will no longer file the RC232 Corporations Information Act Annual Return through Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and the form will no longer be available for download from Canada.ca.

Ontario has simply noted that there will be a change to the Corporations Information Act annual return process and that the government will update its webpage as more information is available.

This should be good news for charities incorporated in Ontario! Those charities won’t have the cumbersome step of filing a provincial form alongside the federal T1235. Hopefully, the new Ontario form will be simplified to a more reasonable format and the information captured more accurately than was the case with the RC232.
