Jeff Clarke, senior editor of Christian Week, wrote How to be a faithful Christian within Canada’s cultural and faith mosaic, which I invite you to read for his important ideas about the church and its mission.

Jeff writes that we must resist the lure of using the power of the state to do what can only be done by the power of the Holy Spirit. He notes that “corporate change can only come through individual change” and that Christianity needs to be accepted, not enforced.

Jeff’s post is an important caution as to how we Christians choose to advance the mission of the church. My related post is Christians and the Power of the State.

Jeff also mentions two other themes I’ve written about in the Community Leadership category of posts:

  1. Pluralism in Canada
  2. Longing for a golden past

God bless!
